Handi's Cakes won Cake Decorator of the Year!

What a night! I went to the Annual National Baking Industry Association (NBIA) Gala Awards Night on May 10 in Brisbane. The event was themed ‘A Parisian Masquerade’ featuring special guests Adriano Zumbo and Kirsten Tibballs!

I was so excited to be seated at the head table, I felt just like a VIP! It was so great to meet Adriano, Kirsten and Julie Whitehead. The president of NBIA was there too and the award was presented by the president of Cocoa Berry (one of the major sponsors).

It was such a great moment receiving the award for Cake Decorator of the Year! The award is now on display in my shop!

Beginner 3 - 2 Tier Stencil & Large Peony Rose (Photos)

My Beginner 3 class has successfully completed a rather big work, covering two (2) tier square cake, stenciling plus creating a large sugar flower peony rose. Classes ran for 2 days from 10am-4pm & yeahhh they all survived.

I am pleased to see my students are gradually on its way to intermediate level.
